Coffee and the Weather with Jeff…06/09/2026

Active weather in the center of the country as the blocking pattern breaks down, and the zonal flow (jet stream west to east) pushes rounds of rain every couple of days. The tropical threat for the following week has quieted down over the last few days. Most of the members of the ECMWF show something in the Bay of Campeche, but stays close to Mexico. No central or eastern Gulf storms today on the ensembles. South Carolina coastal weather…Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening, starting Wednesday and going into next week with this pattern.
