Happy Anniversary

I meant to post this yesterday and no I didn’t forget my anniversary.

A Season Ending Injury

Kaleb gets a cast

Kaleb had a great game on Tuesday, scoring a goal in a hard fought game with Cheboygan. Boyne City won 3-2. However, when he was taking the ball down field on a break away, he got tripped up and fell. Initially, he didn’t think much of it, but it was pretty sore the next day so I took him to the doctor. A small bone in his wrist looked funny on the x-ray, so they referred us to the orthopedics dude. He confirmed the diagnosis and now Kaleb is in a cast for 6 weeks.

He was having a great season too. The coach said this in the article:

“Our effort was superb and we moved the ball well. Sam Jabara and Kaleb McNamara had their best games ever. “

A major bummer.

I love my wife

I am now watching "Flame." The video for the 3 words of love in the
Hebrew language. I remember when I first got this one and watched it.
It was about the same time that Mary and I had started dating. I
realized that this is what I wanted and that the two of us would be
together. To paraphrase a line from the film, I realized that when I
was with her that I wanted to be with her right then, than be anywhere
else in the world. As we approach our second anniversary, I realize
that this still hasn't changed. In fact, I have been catching myself
being cheesy with her like when we were dating. I still love her more
than anything.

Late night thoughts

Currently, it is 330 am and I'm up. I am preparing myself for my
upcoming midnights. There are so many things going on in my life. Dad
once said that I went from 0 to 100 mph in 60 seconds. Well this day
is no different. However, as I watch the Nooma video "Rain," I
realize that as chaotic as my life is, it will settle, to a certain
extent. God will see me through this period of my life. "I love you
Buddy. We're going to make it. Dad knows the way home." I have had
times when I have questioned God, asking, "Where are you?" However,
this time I have been more aware of God's presence than any other time
in my life.

I guess it's those little winks that one gets from a grandparent,
who's thinking about you. In this case, there have been a series of
encouraging signs that I have been getting. A case in point, the Taize
daily Bible readings to the right. There have been several in the last
week or two that have been giving me encouragement, that God is
watching us and that we will be taken care of.

Tuesday night Kaleb had his second soccer game. It was at their old field at the Walloon Lake resort. There wasn’t much in the way of room on the side lines so I couldn’t get a lot of shots. The game ended up in a tie 0 to 0 even with double overtime! Boyne City really dominated the game in everything, but the score. This picture will get you to the set.
