It's really getting pointless to watch the news. There's no real news on it. And, "commentary" or "opinion" has become a string of well-crafted insults.

I have watched Whale Watchers on Animal Planet many times. I am a big fan of the show. I think this writer makes a point about spending the million dollars on the stealth ship, however I don't see the SeaShepherd as stupid. I think just as anyone who is passionate about something they are extreme, and willing to go to whatever lengths it takes for there cause. I also envy there determination, watching this show a few times the thought of "Why can't I be like that for Christ" has crossed my mind. Good Post!

I like the bit about the manager providing them with electricity so they can play video games--Thank God for his generosity! I mean, there are any number of things a couple of teenagers camping in a parking lot might need--light for security, plenty of water and perhaps a meal--any number of reasons to be concerned for them, but at least we don't have to worry as to whether or not they will have electricity for video games.

That's kind of what we did. My wife pulled them off of Facebook and then made them private on YouTube. You have to be friends with her to view them.

Thanks.

Jeff -- I'm not a lawyer, but the school's performance would seem to fall under fair use. However, you should probably speak to someone at the CSM and find out what the legal basis is for their position.

You can also generally password-protect media (and give the password to only those few you wish to view the clips) to prevent this type of situation. Considering that your intent is NOT to mass-distribute the clips, it would seem reasonable to be able to utilize this approach.

Just my $0.02.

Republicans have been most supportive of science. Healthcare reform as currently proposed ala HR-3200 is nothing less than a thinly veiled Democratic effort to utilize a emotionally hyped need as a political weapon (as was done with stem cell research) combined with appeal to crude class warefare to move our nation toward welfare state socialism. As currently proposed and advocated by the administration and left-wing liberal extremist, nationalization of healthcare in America would give the Federal government near total control of healthcare in our nation, the consequence of which would be a real and present danger to the economy of our nation and the future of taxpayers. Republicans have been most supportive of science. It may be that Republicans must wear the label of scientific obstructionism to drive a stake through the heart of this fiscal vampire that goes under the cloak of heathcare reform. So be it. Once upon a time, there were those who called our Founding Fathers rebels. History has seen fit to label them patriots.

Thanks for finding these, Jeff. People are all agog over health care and what we have going on now is the politicization of reform. We need real reform. There is a great article in the Atlantic...sorry no URL. Smart people know what has to be done and how to do it, but our political leaders (both R and D) are so entrenched in dogma that they cannot do what is right. This is in the same league.
